COMMEMORATIVE EVENT – 75 YEARS OF NORTH RHINE-WESTPHALIA
On the anniversary of the founding of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, distinguished guests – among them Chancellor Angela Merkel, Prime Minister Armin Laschet, State Parliament President André Kuper, Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, and UK Trade Minister Greg Hands – joined invited citizens at the Düsseldorf Racecourse to mark this special occasion. The celebration featured musical performances by Till Brönner, David Garrett, the WDR Symphony Orchestra and the British military band “Band of the Welsh Guards.” The event was hosted by Johannes B. Kerner. WDR broadcast the ceremony live and aired the full event in the evening.
